What's happening at the museum

While we are only open during the summer months for regular visits, there are other opportunities to enjoy local history.

  • New Hours for 2026 and beyond

    We changed our open hours on May 23, 2026. The museum will be open from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday for visitors to enjoy our exhibits and/or research local history. See you next May when we open for our 32nd season.

  • New exhibit coming in 2027

    We are pleased to announce a new exhibit for next summer. Thanks to her son Terry, Lucy Chun will be remembered with a special display of artifacts from her life. Lucy was well known and a respected member of the community. Learn about her life and the important part that Korean residents played in our history.

  • Welcome students

    Student groups during the school year are always welcome at the museum. Please make arrangements ahead of time (a week to 10 days if possible) so we can make sure enough volunteers are available to give your students a great educational experience..

  • Our Town Articles

    If you do not subscribe to the Whitehall Ledger, you can still read back issues of the Our Town articles on this website under the Our Town Articles section. More editions of the articles will be added in the future.

Students welcome

Our volunteers are always ready to share knowledge with students. We have regular visits with Whitehall 3rd graders and have arranged visits from other schools. Contact the museum at least two weeks in advance to schedule a visit - remember, during the off season we only check our phone messages on Mondays.

32nd season is coming

Saturday, May 29, 2027 with new open hours of 1:00 PM to 5PM and Tuesday through Sunday ending September 15th. Open on Memorial and Labor Days. (check with museum to see if July 4 has staffing)

kids scavenger hunt

To help our younger visitors enjoy the museum more, they can do a scavenger hunt to find artifacts listed on a guide sheet. Once they find all the items, bring back the completed hunt and receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone at our local A&W.

new mini gift shop

Need a unique, local, one of a kind gift? Check out our new mini gift shop. While we have had a small selection of book available for some time, we now have historic framed photos, blankets, placemats, puzzles, posters, and dish towels embroidered with the big red barn. They make great holiday, birthday, or anytime gifts.
